Right now I'm only 17 years old and basically dont have any expereince selling footage. Presumaly I would like to sell some stock footage that I have archived from hawaii, los angeles, and san antonio. I shot 90% of it 24p and the other 10% i shot with my super 8. I have all the footy seperated into their own timelines and ready to lay off to tape.
I have categories like Scenary, Animals, Museums/Architecture, Landmarks, and City Life. Each category ranging from 100-150 clips around 30 minutes long on the timeline.
Now, my problem is I have everything set up and easy for me to sell, but have no idea how to even market myself. I was thinking about setting up my own stock footage website with demo reels of each category and just have an option for people to download the quicktime files 720x480 for NTSC and output one also for PAL.
I looked at other stock footage sites and theyre selling like package downloads to 600$... so I was thinking I'd sell mine for like 300$ just because I'm not really seeing it going to be a booming buisness.
Really i'm looking at any info that can help me sell my footage to any kind of company. Info on how the stock footage "industry" works and all of the above.
Any help is appreciated.
