Stock footage question..

I'm trying to get together a trailer with stock footage I'm going to purchase, but I wanna know which 'resolution' I would need to buy that works best with quicktime file?

the end would be posted on a website.

Quicktime files can be almost any resolution. You just need to match the rest of your footage. If it were me, I'd just go with 720. Those files are compressed and if you want to tweak them, you'll be glad you have the extra res.

IS there a way I can match anamorphic footage to an non-anamorphic if the resolution sizes are the same?

I haven't edited in a bit, and have never done it for the web before.

If your aspect ratios are the same, they should match easily, but if both files are the same resolution and only one is anamorphic, you'll need to crop one of them to get them to match.

For example, you might have two video files at 720x480, one anamorphic 16:9 (meaning a 1.2 pixel aspect ratio) and one 4:3. One of these will require cropping.

Or, you might have some footage shot in HDV at 1280x720 and some footage shot in DVCProHD at 960x720. In this case there will be no cropping required.
