Stir of Echoes and Brother's McMullen Commentaries

I have to revive this thread. I've been watching the Bros McMullen with the commentary and it is great. Burns talks about how he did so many of the scenes in masters, he knew where he was going to punch in, how they used minimal crew, how he snuck in production value, etc.

It's not just an indie/just go do it/buck the system talk (although there is that). It really underscored to me how prepared he was, and how he know what he needed to make each scene work. That's the second part of the equation, and the part so many people overlook.

I highly recommend it. It's also very entertaining. But, then again, I am one of three brothers who grew up in an Irish-Catholic family in New York around the same time he did....
