Stills in FCP

What is the best format to import stills into Final Cut Pro 5? When the sequence settings are 10 bit uncompressed with a frame size of 720x486. JPEG or TIFF and with what compression?
 
TIFF or TGA or Photoshop no compression. Also I like stills to be at least twice the resolution of my sequence so I can zoom into them if needed without losing sharpness.

hm. ive always wondered that. TIFFs seem like the best choice.

I looked in the FCP handbook and they say "PNG is the optimal image format"
