Still struggling with tripods

The more I do research the more I feel being lost. This all started in january when I knew that I could afford a dvx100b this spring. From the very beginning I determined to get the best tripod I could afford. First I leaned towards to the Bogen range but gradually I realized that this would be a real long term investment. So here I am lost with the 1000 euros (1250$) cash available.

I know that the Focus would be great, but what isn't that great is its availability here in Finland. And the price with single stage legs and no bag is 1200 euros (1506$). So can't afford that right now. I also prefer two stage legs over the single ones for added flexibility.

Has anyone really some experience with the Sachtler DV-4II/2 -system with the dvx100 especially? That would come in the right price point. What's the best, I could order it directly from the BHphotovideo and the price would still be far more cheaper than here in Finland.

I also thought of buying the miller DS10 -head with some decent sticks but then I heared that its movements aren't so fluid at all.

You can say me that use the search function of this wonderful forum but trust me, I have done it more than a single man can suffer.

I am lost.

I am getting a DV 4 II later this week for 650 used. I too would like to know if it's right for me. I'll be using a redrock micro with a rod support system on it, maybe even a mattebox later.

If you got that tripod, be sure to tell your opinion about it. Somehow that Sachtler feels better than any other solutions in that price range.

I have read that review while a go, but missed the Sachtler. With seen that review I think that the on/off type of drag control could be an issue for me, especially if the drag isn't enough when switched on. Nevertheless I noted that the Vinten Pro-6 got kind of praise for being an overall good solution. I just don't like those floor type of spreaders, but why couldn't I buy different sticks for that head. The vinten pro-6 head is quite a bargain and it has even an illuminated bulb!
