Still slideshow in FCP

I was wanting to put together a still slideshow in FCP and I was going to take my pictures from iPhoto and import them. What is the proper format size to get them to be full size in the monitor and canvas?
 
Anything over 720x480 will be full size without loss in quality. The bigger they are the better they are for zooming in. But the drawback is the bigger they are the slower you'll work... might not be an issue depending on your CPU.

I think most people prefer setting up a slide show in IDVD vs. FCP because it is easier, faster, and transitions are added "automatically" if specified. If you are burning to disk this will eliminate a step. Keep it all in 1 application. It has been a while but "i think" it's possible.
