Still motion SPFX

Hello All!

Please watch about 1min. of this video so you get a better understanding of my question.

I have a upcoming project where I will be capturing still images of a car, to create a 360 degree panorama, as if you are on a automotive's manufacturer's website. So you can drag a slider and view a car from all angles. This I know how to do, but what I want to incorporate in my next project is similar to the effects in the above video. Where everything is frozen in time.

So for example: I have a car with 15 images panorama on a slider, and I want to have sparks near the rear quarter panel, how do I keep these sparks the exact same when the view is changed to the front of the car? Do I need to create these sparks in say after effects in 3-D and render it so I can have 15 different angles on the sparks? So I can line them up with the angle so they look natural? What would you suggest?

If you need a better understanding of what I am trying to accomplish please reply with what info you may need so I can provide better details.

Thanks-

I think the 'frozen' bits are just standard Matrix-style "bullet time" (where a linked array of cameras all capture action simultaneously from different angles), composited together with live action. Sadly, bullet time takes a specialised rig with a zillion cameras - presumably specialised film equipment houses have such rigs available for rent, but I'd hate to set one up from scratch unless i had a bucketload of money.

Yes, a skilled CGI artist might be able to do the same thing virtually, e.g. create shots of the same sparks seen from different angles, but getting all the movement and angles to match wouldn't be easy.

Thanks for the reply!
Yes multiple cameras is what I was affraid of, as my budget is too many 0's shy of what that would cost. I think I will have to try and get a skilled After Effects artist to help me out, as that seems to be the more cost effective solution.

Thanks, bgundu, I did think of Carousel but couldn't remember the name. It certainly shows you can fake "bullet time", but I don't know if they saved any money by doing it that way, the motion control technique just better suited the ultra-long tracking shot they needed. I'd hate to guess how much Carousel cost to make :(
