Hi all,

Anyone know how to get a higher rez still capture from vegas than with the "Save snapshot to file" function?

Thx,
D.

yeah, for the preview quality change it from "preview auto" or whatever you have, to "best full" and then save snapshot to file.

when it asks you where you want to save it, you can select either jpeg or png as your file format.

voila!

Ok, thanks...it looks a bit better, but it's still only 72dpi (I opened it in PS).

Is there a way to frame grab a still picture in Vegas with a higher DPI? Or, do I need to get another program to go a frame grab at a higher DPI?

You can only output a still at the same resolution and dot-pitch as the project settings. For higher-resolution, you'd want an HD timeline.

HOWEVER, DV is still DV, regardless of the timeline it's on, with a resolution of 720x480 (NTSC). That's pretty low-resolution. Vegas will uprez it to the resolution of the timeline, but starting with DV, it's not going to be as sharp as actual HD would be.
