I need to know how to create a still camera crosshairs matte to put over my footage to replicate surveillance cameras taking pictures of my subject. How would i easily do this? Heres what I'm working with:
Premiere Pro
After Effects
Photoshop

I'm not too good with AE and photoshop so if you guys could give very basic explanations that would be great.

Also i want to add a vignette matte to some footage, how would i go about this.

Thanks for the help.

You can make a very simple cross hair using the titler in Premiere. Draw two criss-crossing lines down the middle and then draw two circles, one large and one small at the center, then decrease their opacity.

oh...nice.....didnt realize there was a draw tool in the titler. guess i got my answer. thanks man.

Anyone have any idea about the vignette matte?

do you have magic bullet? I believe there is a vignette effect right there in the effects tab underneath the Looks Suite.

i'll be posting up the video in about a week in the DVX-100 footage section so you guys can check it out.

funny i actually found that yesterday too but really dont think its worth the price. I did what you guys suggested yesterday and that worked just fine.

I did this for an early project of mine...made the bracket box around the screen and the cross hairs with a record •. Made everything in Photoshop on a black BG and dumped it into PP2 and it keyed out the black leaving the white behind.

Why did you not make it on a transparent BG in Photoshop to save the keying process. ? (Just curious)

It automatically keyes out the black, i think, been a while since i did it. I think i read it somewhere and wanted to just try it.
