stickypod vs. bogen vs... ?

So I was about to buy the stickypod and realized that the best driving shots I've gotten were when I was holding the dvx on the dashboard and (unfortunately) balancing the top against the windshield... The more contact with the surface (dashboard), the less camera shake. So when you mount the dvx to a ball head mount (stickypod) or one suction cup on the windshield (bogen) you have a very small surface contact, therefore more shake... does anyone have experience with something that can affix to the dash or the window with more surface area then the stickypod or bogen? I don't need the ball head motion or the bogen arm flexibility, just something that will hold the dvx flush to the dash in a manner somewhat more stable than a roll of gaff tape...?
