Stereo to Mono Audio PROBLEM!

When I use an external mic plugged in to input 1 & nothing in input 2,
I of course get audio on the left channel and nothing on right.
Fine enough, but when I capture the file, AP sees it as stereo.

I realize I can Breakout to mono clips, but this will NOT allow me
to edit/trim in the monitor window before going to the timeline.
Ive been having to Breakout to mono and do all my trims in the timeline.
This is and undesireable work around.

You are missing the Fill Right or Fill Left audio effect!

Apply Fill Right or Fill Left on your audio and everything will work ok. Witch one to use depend on what channel is empty.

I assume that you work in Premiere Pro. If not, my answer may not help...
