Stereo split in two mono.

Vegas is real time on dual zeons just wonderful to work with.
I was wondering if there is any way to divide the stereo track
captured from DV 24pa (or any format) to two individual audio mono tracks. I really like this program - and producing beautiful DVDs from the DVX, DVD Architect, and Vegas combo. Thanks for any help on the audio question!

Re: Stereo split in two mono.

Sure, just make a copy of it. Then right click on the sound track, and if wanting to set each to mono then select Channels->Combine.

When recording from two different audio sources and editing in Vegas, do the same thing as above but on one copy select Channels->Left Only on for the other select Right Only. Then you have the 2 channels seperated out into their own tracks.

Re: Stereo split in two mono.

Thank You Sir Allen,
Making a copy of the audio track is a good solution.
One more question. Is there an easy way to perform a copy and move operation on a track (audio or video) that is orthogonal. (that is to keep the audio tracks in sync with each other). I have problems with making copies of video track directly above or directly below each other. I think I have to get the cursor in the right place and copy to the cursor's postion. I'm just not sure how to do that. I have learned most of Vegas completely from trial and error and find it very intuitive except in a couple areas like this.
Thanks again

Re: Stereo split in two mono.

Do you have snap on? It'll usually line up nicely when I just drag it down unless the cursor is near the beginning or end of the clip which causes it to snap to the cursor.

A way to be sure it lines up is to simply click the left side of the clip you're copying (to align the cursor at the begining of the clip), copy it, then drag it until the left side of the copy snaps to the cursor...so they both start at the cursor.

Hard to explain, easy to see on screen though. Let me know if this is confusing and I'll try to explain better.

Thank You SirAllen for your help.
I spent some time this weekend fiddling with just that. I got the hang of it now and I'm moving right along. The program is beatifully written but the docs have disappointed me.
