Maybe I am crazy but I thought that running my DVX with FCP reccorded only left and right audio through the 2 XLR inputs on the Cam. What I did was to plug in a shotgun mic into ch. 2 and a wireless mic into ch.1 and set to get the audio from the XLR inputs for 1 and 2 rather than the built in mic on the DVX. (now my thought was that when I captured this sound it would record the shotgun sound to ch. 2 "left I think" and the wireless sound from another room to ch 1 "right I think)
Anyway after I did my capture into FCP and rendered the audio their were two tracks as normal and they were the separate sound sources but the prob was this.
When I played the audio I could hear both channels on both speakers in a stereo setting. So I muted the sound for one of the channels and I still heard it through both speakers. Left and Right.
I am sort of confused. The DVD recorder left and right and FCC showed that the sound was on separate audio tracks but it played each track back on both channels of my Macs stereo speaker set up??? Can you please help.
Why did the audio not get split in the playback of FCP. Maybe I should be in the Audio forum but I thought this might be a FCP setting issue.
