He is on NPR talking about his new film "Bubble" which is being released simultaneously in theaters, dvd and cable. He mentioned he shot it on the Sony F950. He also mentioned a "new small HD camera that is going to revolutionize film making" Could he be talking about the HVX? :)

Another interesting thing he mentioned is that he wanted the set to be very non-intimidating, since he was not using actors, at least not professional actors. He stated that he did not use lights to keep things simple. I'm not sure if he meant "no lights" or he means "didn't use a 50 ton grip truck worth of lights"

I have already added this to my Netflix queue. Comes out in a few days

If you guys get the time, download the "Bubble" trailer over at;

http://www.apple.com/trailers/magnolia/bubble/hd/

Now, for everyone who has a problem with chromatic abberation on their little fixed lens camera, check out the CA in every shot with a highlight! Shot with the F950 and billion dollar glass... It's bloody bad!

In fact, the lighting in general isn't up to snuff, or the editing, or... well, the story better be fantastic to make up for the technical mess...

That was a waste of a download.

That looked like it was shot with my old digital 8. I don't get the trailer at all.

Aren't you being a little dramatic there? I don't think anyone would confuse that with being digital 8. That said, the trailer was pretty vague. Really it could have been done with a still camera, since there was no motion. Perhaps when you don't have any stars you show off the quirky set in the trailer!

In the interview, they mentioned that this was a real doll factory. Something quite rare in the U.S. apparently.
