Steadymove Pro

I have a piece that begins with a graphic of text from After Effects. The very next clip is of a Long Shot of Cliffs next to the Pacific Ocean. If I put a DISSOLVE in between these two clips...no problem. But this Cliffs clip NEEDS SteadyMove Pro to prevent it from looking like a handheld shot. However, whenever I apply SteadyMovePro and re-render, my clip goes from GRAPHIC OF TEXT->Dissolve-> Black????? No cliffs. If I take out the SteadyMove Pro, the clip is visible. PLEASE. Give me a break! Does anybody know what could be causing this? I don't really know how to use this plug-in. I've gotten it to smooth my clip fine just by using it's default settings.

Any Suggestions?

Ok Pookie - the "look in the manual" bit is getting old.:lipsrseal I use Premiere and I've used the SteadyMove plugin quite a bit and I can tell you the manual is not going to solve this one.

rlm - I had this exact same thing happen to me once and I never was able to really figure out why it was doing that. I'll bet if you take out the dissolve and just do a cut it works fine, right?
So the way to get around this is to use a nested sequence. Put the clip that has the plug-in applied to it on a new sequence, make sure it looks the way you want it to, then insert that "sequence" into your main timeline in place of that clip. That solved it for me so hopefully that will work for you as well.
Let me know if it works.

Thanks Sirius. I will give it a try. You are right, it works fine if I take out the dissolve. I'll let you know.

is it still like that after rendering? if it isnt. your good. if it is , and the nested sequence or creating a virtual clip doesnt work.. then render it without the dissolve or steadymove first.. one or the other.. then replace the timeline section with the rendered clip, and perform the oher effect on the area its needed.

2D3, is the place to be asking for help with this problem, they are very easy to contact, and are great to deal with.

Sorry sirius, but there are FAR too many questions about plugins etc directed to these forums. If you pay $400 plus for the program, you go to the source for help, not here.

Too many "please help" questions to believe they're all legit owners of the software.

So sirius......:embarasse

I happen to disagree - Just because someone ask a question that you or I seems to think is simple or obvious, doesn't mean the person has a bootleg copy of the software.
Many people, including myself, just have an adversion against manuals. I personally hardly ever reach for the manual. Occasionally the online help, but rarely the manual. I do love the Total Training DVD series though and have found them very useful.

I happen to own every piece of software on my computer. Does that mean I'm not allowed to ask for help from this huge knowledge base?

Buying steadying software

Does anyone know where I can purchase SteadyMove, SteadyMove Pro, SteadyHand DV, istabilize, or other such software at less than the full price? I haven't checked on the other products, but there are no listings for SteadyMove on ebay.
