Steadycam Jr. or Glidecam 4000

Re: Steadycam Jr. or Glidecam 4000

ive had the rig for a while and got the old gimbal type. the new one looks pretty cool. any word on if it got any improoved performance? it looks like its just been redesigned for comfort and handeling.(which of course could improove performance due to these factors.. :P)

im pretty happy with the form and function of my current model, but pending the cost to upgrade id be interested in making a little change if its got enough difference to warrant it. ;)

Then you should talk to Ed, the guy who posted the info on the link I give you. It might be worth it,as you say, if it really makes a difference.

Me, I'm putting the finish touches to my rig. Tested the arm out and it seems to handle very well with 10kg to 23kg weight. Of course I won't be carry that type of weight but it's nice to know I can, but due to my back, I doubt it. :'(

man... i know what you mean about the back thing. i was in a nasty car wreck some years ago when some teenage girl lost control of her car from excessive speed, and hit my vehicle head on. i couldnt even walk for a while... it finally got near almost all better, and i reinjured it when my wife and i decided to get wacky and have a gymnastics competition between the two of us in the middle of a downtown lawn. during a back handspring i heard a loud snap , and had searing pain in the pre injured place, and its never been the same.. that hurt so bad that its hard to even remember.. i cant bend backwards very far at all now, and it really hurts after being on my feet for a while. but i can still do alot active things including flying a DVX on a magicam.. i pullled off 4 hours of flying about 6 months ago, but its recently deteriorated further, and i have to get it checked out again. :'(

sucks to be us.. :P
