steadicams with wiries

Well, I'm going to answer here -

Two options:

1. Wireless hop to camera (has to be a high-quality wireless system to get consistent results (i.e. Lectro 4xx series or Zaxcom)
2. Record double system (best bet). Use a separate recorder, synch via a slate and turn your on-camera mic on for a scratch/dailies track (yes, you saw it here first - I recommended using the on-board mic for something).

im just not sure what else i could use to record the audio.

the A1 ( which i use ) records at 16bit me thinks, 48000 khz, so i wuld need to find something that records the same?

any suggestions? ( i am not rich )

There's a bunch of lower cost recorders out there - I even have one for sale (Marantz PMD-670). PM me if you're interested.

(I honestly did not recommend double-system in order to sell a recorder...)

There are a number of great low-cost timecode-enabled digital recorders on the market, as well as several very good non-TC models (including Phil's PMD-670). Even if you opt for a wireless hop from the mixer to the camera, a backup recorder is a good idea. Recording both single-system (via wireless)and double-system (via stereo field recorder) will give you the best of both worlds: the streamlined post-production of on-camera audio and the reliability of a field recorder. Backup recorders are also handy for recording rehearsals, wild-takes, and room tone without eating up your video tape stock.

Of course, if you skip the wireless and only record double-system, you'll save a fair bit of money (not to mention the added weight of the wireless recievers on your camera rig).
