imthinking

I have an option to buy an SE (the old model) that fits into my budget but wondered if any of you had knowledge of why i would want the old se over the new LE?

UPDATED QUESTION: for the flyer and pilot is the only or main difference just in the weight capacity? Arm is the same - vest is different but the mechanics seem to be the same? Am i missing something?

Thanks

For me, I'd go with an LE over the SE for the extra weight capacity as well as the telescoping post. The only upside to the LE are 24 volts if you have a camera that uses 24v. Dont know of a video camera that does. You also get a fancy leather vest but the normal fabric LE vest is pretty comfy. The metal buckles on the leather vest are a nice touch, but I'd still much rather have the telescoping post and extra capacity. The only way I'd go with an SE is if I could get a used one significantly cheaper than an LE and it was in perfect working order.

Note that I operate a standard flyer - not LE or SE and do just fine. But it sure would be nice to have that extra 5 lbs and telecoping post. Have yet to need 24v or a better vest. Could use a compact vest but thats another story...

I have an option for 5K looks to be mint condition which is in my budget somewhat :) i have bought so much lately that i just dont think i can pony up 8k for the le new. But for the life of me i cant find out what the old flyerse sold for new? any ideas.

Yes I see this, but the way I understand it this is FLYER LE with addons making it SE as explained to me by TIffen today. Since you have one what did you pay for yours 2 years ago or the time that you did buy?
Thanks,
Brian

Ahh now that I didnt know - I paid 5000 a few months ago for mine (used). Just be aware that the one in the pic at B&H is definitely not an LE and is the old model. Maybe just an old pic though. Are you in a position where you can go and look at it before you buy?

Can't remember at all if I've mentioned it to you or not as there seem to be a rash of Steadi-threads lately but budget $200 for a workshop and whatever it takes to get there. No amount of reading and video watching can account for 2 days of hands on with someone that knows what they are doing.
