Steadicam, P&S & DVX

Has anyone had any experience flying the DVX with the P&S adapter, lens, and follow-focus on a 'Flyer' steadicam rig? My guess is that it's coming dangerously close to the rig's weight capacity.

Looks like you may have to look up the specs (weights) of all of the accessories you want to use. Add them all up and compare them with the max load weight for the Flyer.

Let us know.

Just this week I built this exact rig. It is indeed dangerously close to max capacity, but it is doable. I was using an old Zeiss superspeed, but other lenses could potentially push it over the weight limit (S4's, Primos). All this means is that you have to lift the arm slightly to get it to horizontal, which is not all that desirable, or you can use the old trick of using rubber surgical tubing around the arm to give it extra lift.

Hey Charles whats up? Hey he wanted to use the new "Flyer". We were using a different Steadicam ...at least the days that I was there. Do you get a Flyer for this weekend though? If so how did you like it? After using it I think is the best arm out there for the price/MiniDV.
