Steadicam Low Mode

I'm assuming you mean this part: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/192878-REG/Steadicam_078_7393_01_Mini_low_mode_kit.html It's sold through several companies, under a few different names, but that's the only Steadicam Low-Mode Kit I know of.

It's actually 2 parts, one of which is a handle clamp, and one of which is called either a D Bracket or an F Bracket, depending on who makes it. The handle bracket clamps around the top handle of a conventional video camera, and allows you to mount the camera right-side-up on an inverted Steadicam sled. The F Bracket then attaches into the gimbal of the rig with a safety pin, and lowers the total height of the system. In normal operating mode, the gimbal handle extends vertically and adds an extra few inches to the height of the rig. In low mode, not only do you not want the camera to be any higher, but you also might run into the camera bumping into the arm. By flipping the gimbal handle over with the low mode bracket, you drop the camera down a few inches, which is always good, and you move the camera farther from the end of the arm.

Check out the attached picture, which is from the Pilot manual. You can see how the gimbal handle is mounted upside down.

Hope this helps!Screen shot 2011-06-01 at 12.34.31 PM.jpg
