Steadicam EX1 or GH2?

What would be the best way to capture good B roll with a steadicam, I have access to both of these cameras. Which one would you use & what steadicam would you get?

Also would a gopro on a steadicam smoothie be easier to use & acquire decent footage than the above camera options?

The heavier the camera, generally the steadier it is on a steadicam, as long as it's not too much for the unit you're using. The smoothie is pretty small and light, but a gh2 is pretty light as well, especially with some of the lighter lenses. I generally prefer the style of the glidecam (the way it's laid out) to the style of the smoothie -- I just think it's easier to balance and use. I've used each of the glidecam hd2000 and hd4000, flycam nano DSLR, and a cheap handheld similar to the smoothie, and I would recommend any of the 1st 3. They all work similarly, with different price points and weight handling ability.

Just go with a wide lens that focuses to infinity at a fairly close distance. make sure the unit is balance well, then plan your movement before you make it -- have a plan and don't wander aimlessly hoping to get something -- that seems to be the easiest way to get usable steadicam footage.
