Rather than take a major hit on the resale of my HVX and supporting gear, I hope to rent out the equipment to local filmmakers in the area. I believe the market is underserved and I would be able to make a profit while providing affordable access to higher-calibre equipment. I have some questions and I hope some of the members here have experience in running a rental service.
The advantage here, of course, is that I still have access to a camera, even though I've shifted my attention to photography.

- What insurance do I need to cover theft and damage and what can I expect to pay for it?
- What contract(s) do I need? (Can someone provide a copy of theirs?)
- Is a safety deposit a simple matter of contractual obligation?
- How do I protect myself against bad checks? Is there a local merchant-to-buyer (renter-to-rentee) service that would circumvent Paypal-type fees?
