Star Wars VII Cast announced, original members coming back!!

I'm pretty sure the old cast is just going to do cameo parts, like the wise advisers that the main characters go to for advice or get their missions from. Obviously we don't want to see Carrie Fisher in a bikini again. I"m sure there will be a new hottie in the cast.

I think they're more then cameos. JJ Abrams hired Lawrence Kasdan to rewrite Michael Arndt's script because he wanted a bigger role for the original trio. One recent news report said Han Solo has a gigantic role in the next film. I guess if they were going to give one of those guys the bulk of the workload it should be Harrison, as he's in the best shape of the bunch physically and acting wise.

Absolutely. Look at some of the work Clint Eastwood has done in his later career.
 
Yea my only concern as he gets older is getting into a story arc that could be in jeopardy due to his age. Harrison is getting up there and SW is a huge franchise. Wouldn't want to start something great then have him kick the bucket. I wonder if they'll kill him off in a heroic way...he wanted to die when they made Empire but was told no haha.
 
Back in '97 I said I wish they'd made sequels instead of prequels while the original cast wasn't too old yet. I guess they're 'still' not too old. :)I never saw the prequels.
Any chance they will do any old school techniques like ....shoot on film, motion control or optical effects? Or can we expect another wham bam CGI fest?
John Williams is still composing?

Thanks Battuta for the tip earlier. Got my hands on an SD copy of the original series and Star Wars is once again three of my top ten films of all time. The acting is better, the effects are better, the lasers look better, the pacing is better, the aliens are better, the colour is better, the sound is better, the genius of John Williams score is better, every single note matches what's on screen. I don't think the most junior member on this site asking the dumbest questions could have destroyed the special editions so thoroughly. Unlike the special editions which look dated the originals stand up today. Can't wait til disney releases them, perhaps just prior to the release of VII?

I would normally agree but the Knights of the Old Republic game was set thousands of years (if I remember correctly) before the original trilogy and that game had an awesome storyline, characters etc...
