Star Wars The Force Awakens Official Trailer

[Ted Ramasola]

The films that inspired me and made my imagination travel to the stars is back! 32 years after the last, (yep, v I,II,III does not exist for me) The X-wings and Tie Fighters are flying again!! And make way for the Millennium Falcon!

[DPStewart]

I think I'll cue up tomorrow morning.

If anyone needs me, just fire up the old nerd-signal in the sky.

[Ted Ramasola]

.. and the official poster "feels right"..

[Batutta]

The shots of the Falcon with the Han and Leia theme surging gave me the tingles all over. This trailer tells you nothing about the story and I like that. Really, they could probably not release a single trailer and it would still make 2 billion dollars, so they're smart to reveal as little as possible.

I'm worried for Luke guys, It doesn't look good.

[Zak Forsman]

not embedding it to avoid spoilers for people, but don't you guys think this is luke?

Yup. He is there. The poster got his name on it.

Plus, John Boyega looks so terribly outmatched when he's holding that blue lightsaber that someone has to step in to save him, right?

[Ted Ramasola]

Luke has now become a hermit like Yoda. He is now the new Obi Wan. I actually read this in one of the Star Wars fan pages...

3D or not 3D? The imax is 3D but 3D hurts my eyes usually.

I thought the trailer was awesome. Great to see. What movie making is all about in my book. Showing my age but I remember making hot dogs in our new microwave oven (just because we could) so we would not be late to see "Empire Strikes Back" in the theatre.

[little bobby]

I had goose bumps watching the trailer. So many feels....

Also, is that a Death Star in the movie poster?

I think I'm doing 2D on my first viewing. I'm only doing 3D for movies now that are aesthetically designed for the format, like Gravity, or The Walk, where 3D is crucial to the experience.

Interesting that Han apparently never replaced the antenna on the Millennium Falcon that was knocked off inside the second Death Star.

And I must say, Daisy Ridley has the best set of teeth of any actor I've ever seen. And she's British! ;-D

He did. The new one is square. It's easier to see in the other trailers.

I like that the first shots are lock offs rather than stoopid moves.

I hope he's gone in his father's footsteps. That would make for some terrific emotional cinema!

I'd go 2D. Basing on what I can glean from a few BTS teasers, including this

, I think the film is not shot for 3D seeing only single cameras on the rigs, the couple on the moving cockpit "simulator" are too far apart and is probably to cover 2 or more POVs. The 3D is probably a post process, faux, 3D like the previous ones. -Which sucks.

[dillont]

I'm in agreement.

Why do I think this? Luke's theme song plays when the bad black suited dude with the red light saber appears.

Could Luke have gone over to the dark side? I hope so. Would be incredible storytelling. What would have caused him to turn?

Or even darker still - Luke is killed in this one.

I'm worried for Luke guys, It doesn't look good.

Japanese trailer! Some gorgeous shots in this one. Like it even more than the US trailer--
