Stampede sound

[barnapkins]

Im trying to find a sound of women running, almost like a stampede type sound. Its for a class project. Anybody have any idea where i could download a audio file or maybe a way to record my own with out having a large group of people? Thanks.

Tapping your fingertips (and maybe ten more) on a very thick hardcover book should do the trick.

you could also record one or two people runnig and stack them up in the timeline.

One of my favorite things about foley is how a common sound, removed from its context, can become a completely different sound. It can be almost impossible to figure it out in advance, simply because you are so used to the normal context.

You need to record ALL of the below of yourself:

1. Running in place on grass.
2. Running in place on dirt.
3. Running in place on pavement.
4. Running in place with shoes (in all above surfaces).
5. Running in place with sneakers (as above).
6. Running in place with bare feet.
7. Run by microphone as in each above.
8. Find or record sound of avalanche or rocks tumbling.

Stack all sounds above in digital editor.
