Stairwell rig

Is there such a device that will allow you to lower a camera on ropes or cables facing down through a stairwell? If not, I am going to make one. It will be run by a wench system and pulleys, but the cheepest on I can find is about $140.

Why do you need a motorized winch? I simple pulley system should do the trick. You just have to figure out how to keep the camera from "spinning" as you lower or raise it.
