http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vu8xf8Z3O_sI don't know quite what to call this. I took the arm from an old desk lamp and put it on a bracket attached to my tripod. It is flexible, but pretty immune to the effects of the wind. Add some pipe cleaners and I can seemingly reduce the amount of sway from the wind when videoing animals on plants etc. There are still little vibrations under strong wind conditions but at least the bug isn't swaying completely out of frame. More convenient than a large wind screen to be sure.
I'm thinking of putting a clamp on the end of the arm so that it can hold some small screens, bounce cards or whatnot to help control lighting. Any other input/suggestions would be appreciated.
