Stabilizer recommendations for a A7SII?

Using an A7SII and possibly a 5dM3, I want to get something that will be easy to work with to stabilize footage with some movement such as, kids playing, running, and dogs running. Between a shoulder a mount and a Gimbal I'm guessing that a Gimbal is easier to work with, and creates more stable footage? Which models can anyone recommend with a $1,500 or less price range?

Thanks!

For single handle gimbals look at the Zhiyun Crane v2.

There’s a very long thread discussing the original model (v1) in the Industry News sub-forum.

If you are considering a heavier camera setup using a Canon 5D Mark III with lens then one option could be the Beholder EC1 Gimbal Stabiliser. The footage below uses the 5D3 with a 24-70mm f2.8 II L lens which is a heavy combination.

As for the Sony A7S II which is probably more inline with the weight of the GH5 then here's another example with the EC1?
Do I need a Gimbal Stabilizer with the Panasonic GH5 IBIS or Dual IS?

Thanks guys, I just bought the Zhiyun Crane v2 yesterday on sale at BH for $479 to use with an A7s2. Won't get it for another week...

Do you need to turn off built in image stabilization on the camera or make any other adjustments to get good results with the gimbal?

Thanks.

I recently bought the zhiyun crane v2 also. Seems to be working pretty well so far with my A7sii. Took off the grip and put on the sony 11-18. Really wish I could use it with my panasonic FZ2500 but I cannot get it balanced.

I have the Crane V1 and use it with my Canon 80D and the EOS 10-18 F4.5-5.6 STM IS and leave the IS on, the gimbal and the IS don't seem to work against each other at all. The IS seems to help smooth out the little inconsistencies with the Crane movement if I get lazy on my part. Even though gimbals smooth things out a lot, I find I still need to do my part with the Ninja walk, breathing and just trying to keep movement cinematic, slow and smooth. I find my best looking gimbal footage to come from using the 12-16mm focal range/FOV with the 80D's APS-C/roughly S35 imager. Wish there was a EOS 15mm 2.8 IS cheap prime. The 4.5-5.6 is a limitation on speed for me, the 80D doesn't like higher ISOs, too grainy.

Anyone have any thoughts on the zhiyun crane v2 VS. the new DJI Ronin-S for use with an A7S2 or similar sized mirrorless camera? My Crane V2 has been sitting in the box for the past week since I got it because I've been too busy to set it up and use it, though I'm wondering if the Ronin-S might be a better option?

Thanks.
