Hi I am just finishng a music DVD ( Pal 720 25p) which I am sending to a music agent in the USA. I was just wondering if it will play Ok on US region DVD Players or Mac / Pc's.
Thanks.

Nope, not unless the US dvd player (usually Region 1) is region free and either you have an NTSC -> PAL converter for your tv, or your region free player does the conversion for you (which some do).

There are ways to watch PAL DVD's on a computer that involve the use of the freeware player VLC, but I've never done it.

Thanks Jared ! Do you know if region free players are common in the States.
If not Is there a way I can output it for the US market. I edited this project in Vegas because it was a music video. Is it a matter of just outputting in NTSC widescreen 24Fps in Vegas ?

I don't think that region free players are very common here. I've seen the feature available on only a couple higher end players. However, I could be wrong.

Regarding your workflow to create a disc that will play in the US - I would think all you'd have to do is output in NTSC and select the proper region (1) in your DVD authoring software. Again, I could be wrong, so hopefully someone else will chime in here. I've never done any video work outside of the states.

Good luck with your project!

I live in PAL land & have managed to convert my PAL video time line to the NTSC format. After editing my video, in my NLE, I use the standard media encoder, in Premiere Pro for eg to encode it to the MPEG2-DVD standard, but there is a drop down box that allows you to select whether you want to encode a NTSC or PAL format & what quality you want the endoced video to be in. Once you encode the video timeline into the NTSC format & burn to a DVD, it should play fine in the US.
