I love to watch squirrels, We have a big narly tree in our back yard and they hang out there quit a bit. They are pretty funny. I saw one climbing up the neighbors privacy fence get its hind paw caught in fence causing it to flip back and begin to flail around backwards hanging from the fence. The squirrel was able to free the paw and scamper up the fence. At the top, it stopped, shook its whole body, like, "Whoa!!", then scampered off. It was hilarious!

They are very tough and crazy. Their back feet can rotate 180 degrees when they climb "down" a tree to keep a grip. And they always remember where they bury their peanuts. This is a proven fact. Amazing and tough little animals.

Did you know...A squirrels teeth grow continuously. Their incisor's will grow six inches per year, but stay short due to the constant wear they receive.

Watch where they hide them, sneak out at night and move them. Or swap them for someone else's peanuts and see if they notice. Or leave a bishop chess piece to weird them out.

Squirrels are great. I especially like watching them chase each other up and down trees. It looks so dangerous and my evil self is just waiting for one of them to miss a jump or a grab and fall out of a tree.

I have a small side porch on my house where I mounted a bird feeder and load it with sunflower seeds for both my feathered and furry friends. This is also the door through which I let out my dog to run in the back yard. If a squirrel is on the feeder when I open the door, they usually leap up onto the roof of the porch and then scold the dog with their chatter from above as he goes out back. One day, one of the squirrels decided to jump down, instead of up, and landed on the ground a couple of feet in front of the dog. A high speed chase ensued along the fence toward the back yard. I'll spare you the details, but this did not end at all well for the squirrel. Java (the dog) was more embarrassed and surprised than anything else, and demonstrated that he had no knowledge at all of how a wild canine would deal with a fresh meal, even though his "chase and shake" instincts appeared to be operating very well indeed.

It's a measure of how goofy I am about squirrels and other small furry things that I make an annual contribution to the local wildlife emergency clinic in memory of that little guy. It's cost me about a thousand bucks so far ...

I can't stop laughing... that's funny as hell. I have too good of an imagination... I can see the squirrel holding it with a genuine WTF?!
