Squeezed hv20 image

Is this a screenshot from the preview window? What are your project settings? Make sure the project profile is set to HDV (1440x1080 30i).
 
Project settings don't matter; it's about how Vegas reads the footage. (There's no 30i, either.)

In the clip properties, what's the frame size (1440x1080?), and what's the pixel aspect ratio?

Or, is the preview window set to simulate device aspect ratio? It should be.
 
The image is from an export. What I need to know is what kind of settings do I need to input in Vegas, for HV20 NTSC. What resolution ?
Pixel aspect ratio ?
Do I have to set the same settings in Project Properties and in Export settings ?
The frames are distorted at the export.
As far as I know hv20 has 1440/1080 1.33 pixel aspect ratio. I'm not sure.

There are preset templates for HDV in both the Project settings and in render settings (under MPEG-2). Pick the one which matches your frame rate.
