Squeeze mode issues

Hi there!

I've been shooting some student shorts on a DVX-100B. I am going for the "film look," so I've been using Squeeze mode, 24p, and a 35mm lens adapter.

I've noticed that once I bring the footage into Final Cut, it appears to be interlaced; I get horizontal lines whenever there's movement. Is this because I am shooting in 24p instead of 24p advanced with Squeeze mode? (I didn't notice interlacing issues before when I shot 24p with the normal Widescreen mode).

In either case, what's the best method of dealing with the interlacing? Is there any method that doesn't result in quality loss? I have tried changing the field dominance on the sequence settings, applying the De-Interlace video filter, and both of those result in (to me) very noticeable pixelation.

For output to web, I also tried just checking the "de-interlace" box in the Quicktime Conversion settings, but this appeared to leave the footage interlaced.
