Spot on the Letus ground glass!!!!

I have a spot on the Letus ground glass. When the ground glass is vibrating is creates a dark wobbling spot... when the ground glass is not vibrating I get a slack spot. I know how to get to the ground glass by unscrewing the letus rings. However I don't know how to clean the ground glass without damage. I purchased an air can but want to get some feedback before using it on the ground glass. Thank you.

I had this problem a few time and hated taking the Letus apart. Try to use an air blower, not compressed air! Compressed air has liquid that can really screw you up if it gets on the glass. I bought an extra GG from Letus so that I always had a replacement if I was stuck on a shoot and could swap the GG out fast.

the Brevis ground glass I always cleaned with a bit of dish soap and water, and then sprayed it dry with canned air. Works just fine....

Air is the best thing by far, if you are careful with a can you will be fine but make sure you don't have residue coming out. A hand blower is ideal, but often not strong enough. Don't use any liquid unless you get the OK from Letus. Q tip could be a disaster with residue. Its not easy to remove Letus screen and wash like Brevis. I had a devil of a time cleaning the Brevis screen myself.

its most likely a stubborn piece of dust. I had a similar problem and it was a big black chunk of something.

Its most likely a spot of the Letus itself. The paint tends to chip especially when using the screws and this can end up on the screen. Don't be afraid to blow it off. I use a Co2 blower to prevent residue. It used the compressed cartridges that are used in BB guns.
