Sponsors/Festivals

Hey guys,

I was just thinking. Say you make a short film. Now you wanna send it to festivals and stuff but you don't have the money to send it to festivals. So I was thinking, asking sponsors to sponsor that movie and send it to festivals.

Here's my questions:

Say you get a sponsor for your film/movie, now you add a 10-15 second commercial before your movie starts. Will the festival keep that 10-15 second commercial before your movie plays? Or would they take it out?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

I wouldn't even stoop that low, don't sacrifice your work, Festivals don't cost that much, if you can only enter one festival at a time then do it, adding commercials to your work will only cheapen it, and besides I don't think the festivals would accept it anyhow...

Come on FutureDVXuser... as a filmmaker you should know better!!! save up a couple of bucks and enter the damn film yourself... LOL! tough luv.

Capital is right. Go to www.withoutabox.com and apply to their $15.00 and under category. Many festivals have an Early Bird deadline, which is usually $20.00 or less.

Even a high school student working at McDonald's making minimum wage can pay for 5 festivals by working 25 hours...that's two weeks of part-time shifts.
