Splitting / Moving Audio Channels

Hi -
I have a video of a live concert and I'm hoping you can help me with a Vegas audio editing question.

Because I recorded a concert with 2 mics running into the DVX, one close to the band, one farther away, I have some delay.

Currently, the two mics are separate channels on one audio track.

Here is my question:

How can I remove the delay by moving one channel just a smidgeon on the timeline so that the delay is removed? I've already tried duplicating tracks, changing the balance, and moving the audio event - it doesn't work. The problem seems to be that the increment by which I wish to move the audio is smaller than the permitted value for moving audio on the timeline - the audio 'jumps' to the left or right of the area I'm aiming for and the cursor won't select that area.

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help. Hopefully I'm just missing something basic.

In the Options menu there are a bunch of "Snap" items. Try turning off "Enable Snapping" (F8 will toggle it on and off, too) and see if that does it for you.

Also: spread the timeline out to get finer control.
