Splitting during playback

Hello,

I'm going through interview footage and cutting out the questions. It would be cool if I could split during playback and then later come back and delete the question pieces. Is that possible?

Another small question: When deleting the video portion, is there a way to delete the audio at the same time?

Why wouldn't you be able to DELETE later? SPLITTING does not induce Deletion of an event.

I question DELETING later though? How does that workflow turn out for you?

I usually select the Audio portion as well and then DELETE when wanting to remove both
 
The way I do this is to highlight/select the "question" area that you don't want, enable Ripple (CTRL+L) and then select CTRL+X to delete. It will cut the unwanted area out and ripple everything down. You get used to working this way, you can rough cut VERY quickly.
