Split Screen

I'm making my first split screen video. I want the screens to be the same size. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Use the Motion tab to resize your clips and make sure they match.

You mean more than just down the middle??

Scale one

Select the clip - COPY ATTRIBUTES

Select the second clip

PASTE ATTRIBUTES - Basic Motion only checked

Then slide it over (using wireframe + image in the canvas window)

To add to what Fuboy said, if you resize your clips to 50% you can fit them next to each other (i'm assuming you're in 4:3 aspect ratio). You can then position the center of them on the x and y axes so they're in the correct place. I don't have FCP running right now, I think the center point on the y axis would be 0 and 180 and -180 for the x axis for side by side.

Typing at the same time as the Capt.
