Split screen problem in Quicktime player

For some reason I can no longer play quicktime files properly in the latest version of Quicktime player. The screen is split down the middle and the two left halves of any movie I play appear in both sides. Anyone have this problem?

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the same problem occurs. I am using a relatively new computer so I don't really have a history of how the player has performed on this machine.

I am having exactly the same problem. It also happens with realplayer making me think it might be the graphics card or something. Doesn't happen with all files. VLC player plays them O.K. though? hope someone can come up with an answer.

It could be a problem with your codec(s) and not the player. VLC uses codecs that are built into the player instead of the ones installed on your system, so that could be why it's able to play then fine.
