Hi all,

I've be asked by my friend who's outfitting an auditorium that can seat about 900 people with 4 CCTV cameras whether I can use just one large monitor 15" LCD TV & the video images from all 4 CCTV cameras be divided into quarters on the 15" LCD. Ofcourse the other option would be to by 4 small 7" LCD TVs for each CCTV camera. I'm sure dividing the 15" screen into 4 quarters for each CCTV camera is possible. I've seen it done, but I'm not sure what is the special hardware used to split the screen. Does anyone know what's the name of the hardware called? Btw, I've suggested they use composite cables from the CCTVs into the switcher unit as composite gives a better signal over long distances.

Thanks.

Thank you Captian Pierce. So that's what it's called. It's like a small box that splits up the video screen into how many segments you want right?

Thanks for the useful info.

Still, by the time you buy the 15-inch monitor and the multiplexer, 4 7" monitors might be cheaper. :) You can get some nice dual 7" rack-mount monitors, or even a quad 4" monitor system that only takes two standard rack units.

On second thought, I take that back. If something like this is available in your area, it's a pretty reasonably priced rig...
