split screen dilehma

Right as usal I've got another dilehma on my hands...
I'll keep this quick and simple.

I want to do a 3 clip split screen. I shot the footage in letterbox mode. How do I arrange the clips on top of eachother with no black strips(caused from the letterbox mode) in between? any way of cutting and pasting?

any hasty replies would be most valued as i have the band comin around in an hour to look at the rough test footage. Yeah yeah cutting it fine I know...but you know how it is? ;)

oh and one more thing how does one invert footage ie...subject is walking from left to right and i want him to walk right to left?

use the DVE function to crop unwanted material. You will have to do some cropping anyway. You can also drop a photoshop mask on top of the image and all three layers that adds back the black stripe.

As slappy said, just crop the clips in the Motion tab.

Invert footage:Effects tab - Video Filters - Perspective - FLOP!!

The only thing the band is bitching about at the moment is the money we're spending on this shoot...atleast they liked the look of the video.

Keep your eyes open for more urgent questions from me...cos there will be more...guarenteed ;D
