Split Renderings - Adobe Media Encoder

So I'm working on a RED Feature in CS4, and my renders are like 5 days for a full render of 70mins or so. I know how to render sections, but how do I combine them afterwards? i.e. if I render 10 min segments and combine them later. I'm rendering from 2K to 1080p Bluray.

Thanks for the reply. Wouldn't that require a 2nd rendering? Or because it would be same format it would just combine?

hmm and wouldn't that degrade the quality more? just curious about this too.

5 day render? jesus i thought my 20 hour render problem was bad

You can have after effects export a TIFF (Or PNG sequence if you are staying in 8-bit land) image sequence of your film and then re-render that into a full video if you are running out of memory trying to render the whole deal.

The best part about this method is that if your render crashes, you will still have the frames you rendered alerady. You can tell After Effects to skip alerady rendered frames, and have multiple PCs doing the render to a network folder to further speed up the render.

You will then need to export the audio seperately (or get it from your audio master if you have one) and then render that into your deliverable. The time you need to re-render from the image sequence shouldn't be nearly as long as rendering from your R3D files as long as your drive is fast enough.
