Spike Lee's Oldboy

I don't like the idea of remakes in general, especially of recently released foreign films, but I kind of view Oldboy as a special case, considering the extreme nature of some of the content in the film. It is a great story, but I could see a lot of the audience being turned off by some of the violence. I don't expect the remake to be quite as dark.

Well the remake seems to be just as dark as the original, which really begs the question why it needed to be remade, as the people who will enjoy the remake would probably like the original just as much.

Maybe to people who are not fans of his but I think he will do a solid job. Although I'm not big on remakes but visually I know it will be stunning.

I just don't think this movie will get to much attention, considering spike lee reputation for bashing others work. I don't care for his films really so I think it will flop.
