Anyone ever tried mounting zoom/focus controls on a spiderbrace? It seems like the natural next step with both hands on the brace.

Yeah, someone on the board has done it and it looks like it works well. I'll see if I can find the site...

Well, I can't find it haha but I know someone's done it. The only thing I found was this which you may find helpful:

Just a little something to help stabalize the brace a bit more.

yup i did it, it is the sweetness. Personally i don't know how else you could really get full use with a spiderbrace. I mounted a varizoom focus/iris on the left hand and a libec zoom/record on the right.

These pics were takin with my phone a few weeks ago on my first trip out w the spiderbrace, so they don't show the controls close up but you get the idea.

That's exactly the kind of set up I was thinking of, J5. It's comfortable, and functional?

Comfortable mehhh? I shot with it for about 6hrs the other day almost non-stop, my shoulder and arms were killing me by the end of the day. But i think thats just getting used to hauling it around, though a little more padding on the shoulder would be nice and is probably something i'll try and do. Functionality on the other hand is excellent. No fumbling about trying to hold the camera with one hand and adjust things. Everything is right there at the tip of your thumbs!

J5 , I have the spiderbrace and I've shot that long with it also. 6 hours will kill your arms and shoulders. That's why I also got the DVRig Pro

I have the spider brace and i love it. i have a zoom control but i could not get it to fit on the handle but i was able to rig a camera plate on top of the brace so i can keep my cam plate under the cam at all times with out having to unscrew the brace and screw the plate to the cam each and everytime. the only way i can take a pic of it is with my phone but how do i get the pic on here? the next thing i want to do is put wheels on my brace any ideas?

I've found it a bit hard to fit the handles in a fairly large camera bag due to the way they are shaped.

DVMultiRig and DVRIGPRO are front supported by the fantastic spring loaded pod this is the their huge advantage, No Fatigue Ever... but... you get what you pay for...

thanx for the pics but heck if thats all it is maybe i can rig something like that to the sb2 i have now cuz i cant do with out the mid section of the brace cuz of the riged up job ive done to so far and getting a new one would kill all the work ive put into it but i think i can cut and past something like that.

Hey J5,

I can't find the focus control on Varizoom's site, where did you get it from? Does it work on the DVX100?
