spider brace is great w/ the hvx. strong pvc piping w/ foamhandlesandsupport. i prefer using it over handheld. way more less fatigue. why spend $100's more for a non-supported shoulder brace if you get similar results w/ the spiderbrace?
The spiderbrace is great with the HVX. I really can't believe how simple and effective it is for the price. I added a Varizoom iris/focus/zoom controller to the handle to give me better control. The pvc is great because it's light and strong, but I don't recommend lifting the system exclusively by one of the handles as it feels like the torque caused by the weight of the camera puts a lot strain on the spiderbrace. Otherwise, I just shot my first gig with it (a huge site-specific dance performance involving lots of moving around on my part) and I was amazed by how comfortable and stable it was.
totally agree jeremy. there's only two shoulder supports worth purchasing: a dvrigpro for hands free support and the spiderbrace. there is no in between.
I love this forum cuz I had never heard of the spiderbrace until someone here had mentioned then I did some internet searching got interested and I ordered on Monday and got it two days later. After first I was skeptical cuz the box was a pretty good size but it was so light I thought did they send me an empty box? I opened it up pulled the brace out and I loved the sturdiness and the wieght of it. I did some shooting with it and boy did I fall in love with. I took apart my old 130$ brace for parts and thru away the rest. All in all the spiderbrace is a very good buy. :dankk2:
