Hey guys, here is my DIY Anamorphic Lens Clamp which I made using macro tubes. (#3)
It was really simple, just drilled three holes and bought three bolts. Total cost? About $7. :)

i did the exact same thing. I also made a much larger one out of a piece of PVC coupling and some larger screws and did the same thing. Now to find a nice way to mount it to my camera rig. I dont really like the idea of screwing it with filter mounts onto the front of my lenses.

I would recommend using plastic screws or something soft at the end of the screws. That way you dont scratch your adapter!

So this is the large clap i built out of that PVC. All i did to cut the holes was drill a hole slightly smaller than the screws (1/4 20 screws) and then heated the screws with a heat gun and slowly threaded them in so they cut their own thread. I did some testing with this setup this afternoon and it works well for things over 20 feet away it seems. I will try to upload some tests tomorrow or late tonight.

Hope this helps somebody.

About $3

How did you see this piece working? i could see it holding the lens i guess but then how do i mount this to my camera or my rails or anything like that?

Its a good price however if it could work. It would also stop putting marks in the anamorphic lenses from screws.

Well before I was prepared to over-spend I cheerfully used blocks of wood quite a lot. But then, I still fill a sock with rice when I need a quick tripod.

I made a baseplate out of wood. It can mount on a tripod or on a shoulder mount that I also made from wood:

I cut a long slit to make the camera position adjustable.

And I had a piece of metal with an oval shape on top to hold the lens in place. I then added a strap made from a vacuum cleaner belt to keep the lens from falling off when changing things around (seen in top photo).
