Speedrail/scaffolding diameter in the US?

I’m currently finalising some grip kit I’ve been designing and numerous parts must mate with speedrail/scaffolding. There is 1 ¼” and here in the UK its 48.3mm for the scaffolding. I know in the US 1 ¼” speedrail is pretty prevalent but I presume a larger tubing is also used. The 48.3mm scaffolding is often referred to as an EU standard so am asking if the larger tubing commonly used on US sets is also 48.3mm or another size and if so what it the standard over there?

Any help much appreciated.

So 1.5 pipe has an OD of 1.9 inches.. which is 48.26 MM which will work with any grip equipment you have for UK 48.3 Tube.

If you are interesteded

'pipe' goes by the ID because one needs to calculate how much liquid runs down it

'tube' structural elements are mesured in OD.

Thanks for the quick reply. Pipe and tube is both still not metric in the UK and 48.26mm OD, that sounds like the same measurement. From what your saying then it's the same in the US with 1 1/4" and 48.26mm being the two main sizes of "tube" found on set? ( I think it's tube from the speedrail/handrail standard? So both measured by their OD, is that right?

Thanks for the link Morgan, that was a real help. So it is pipe and goes by the ID then: 1 1/4" is 42.16mm OD and 35.05mm ID and 1 1/2" is 48.26mm OD and 40.89mm ID. Which means my measurements were off for the the 1 1/4 pipe ether way as I was going by the OD. Not sure what the European standard scaffolding size was that I was asked to follow, it sounds like it's the same pipe used both sides of the pond, can someone confirm that is this right?

1 1/4 pipe does not have an OD of 1 1/4. but the size listed on the video. 43mm or something.

In the UK the scaffold tube we have (48.3mm? OD) is something like 1 and 31/32 OD in imperial and therefore is 'imperial'.. a metric tube would be 50mm OD or suchlike.

The 1 and 1/2 tube listed in the video has a very similar OD to our UK imperial scaffold tube.

AKA if I built a rig in the UK from 'scaffolding' and wanted to replicate that rig in the USA I would spec 1+1/2 EA pipe. (as per the video)

To my knowledge everything is 1 1/2 pipe.

I buy from Stage Electrics you can also check the Doughty Catalogue.

We need to choose a size and stick to it through the central build and the 1 1/4" pipe would be perfect but we want something that people can adapt, adjust and build on, this means swivel and right angle pipe clamps. But we cant find any clamps for anything below 48.3mm here in the UK. Below 48.3 mm the only obvious choice is the Doughty Atom clamps, nicely made but they switch to OD sizing, 32-35-38mm. There are a few different US clamps for 1 1/4 pipe such as Cheseboro Clamps and Grid Clamps but I cant find them anywhere here in the UK or EU. Has anyone come across any 1 1/4 inch pipe clamps over here?

I would start by googling hollaender speed rail dealers UK and from there you will find a few speed rail, grip outfits and refine your search from there.

Cant find anything over here at all, I'm avoiding the set screw fixtures, I need clamps like the scaffold clamps, Atom, Cheeseboro, Mathews Grid Clamp, Pro Burger, Mega-Couplers, there's no end of them but non I can find for sale outside of the US.
