speeding up slow motion looks choppy

I shot some snowboarding on my hvx at 720P/24P at 48 fps so that I could get slow motion and record sound. I brought the files into FCP 6.0, used the HD frame converter and the slow motion looks great. But when I increase the speed of the slow motion converted footage by 200% so that the footage runs at normal speed it looks a little choppy. What do I need to do to get this footage to look smooth at normal speed?

When I play the unconverted footage in the viewer it plays smoothly and at normal speed (not slow motion) even though I shot it at 48fps. But when I drop it into the 720p24 sequence it looks choppy.

maybe you can try a speed plug-in
(instead of using FCP's speed control)

they usually brag about better results than FCP speed control
