Speed booster Shootout

Great test, thanks for the link. I went for the original one right before the clones started coming out, and never resented the move, guessing they would not be the same optically. This definitely settles the matter.

This test means nothing as they are not current versions of those adapters which have dealt with some of the issues that the old ones had. The newer ones also have sharper edges to as I own one of them, the Mitakon Lens Turbo Mark ll, picked it up about a month ago.

I somehow doubt that, in these 9 months, those horrible cheap adapters have been redesigned to offer the level of performance of the original speedbooster. Please post side-by-side tests, I'd love to be wrong on this one (usually I'm a very cheap bastard).

So folks don't use gear over 9 months old?

Sure they do, but if your going to post a test on gear make sure the gear is current or the test means nothing. I bought the new version Mitikon because the old one had issues and the new one was much better and cost a lot less then the Metabones, of course if you want to base your decision on the gear you buy on old product then that's your choice.

First of all those horrible adapter have been out a lot longer than 9 months.

As far as being cheap you and I are in the same boat then. I also am very conservative with my money on certain things glass not being one of them and I did my own research online before I bought the Metakon. Is the Metabone Speed Boost Ultra a better adapter? Of course but for much less the Metakon Turbo ll gets the job done very well and cost me a lot less money.

As far as comparisons go I am to busy to take the time to post a comparison, nor do I have access to a Metabone Ultra in the first place but you have a wealth of information at your disposal on your pc do the research as I did. The adapter is a great bargain at the price and working wonders with my very expensive Leica glass.

Here you go. It actually preformed quite well considering what it cost. It has it's issues but still does what I need it to do and with the money I saved I was able to pick up other equipment that I still need.

Surprising. That LT II does look a lot better. Not as good as the first version of the speedbooster, but close enough. Wide open it's like putting some diffussion on your lens: detail and resolution are still there, but you lose some contrast. Stopped down, just as good. Nice.
