24pa footage - captured 2:3:3:2 advanced setting
23.98 timeline
2:3:2:3 pulldown playback
outputing to miniDV
Some clips that I have done speed fx and ramping to, stutter when viewed on a TV monitor, but look fine on computer monitor. No matter which of the 3 pulldown playback settings I choose, the stutter effect is the same. It seems that final cut needs to somehow know what frames to compute while applying the speed effect, and knowing that it will eventually be telecined to 29.97. Are there settings for this that I should be aware of? Is there a rule to applying speed fx so they don't stutter in 29.97?
What if I did the ramping in After Fx 6.5... are there settings there that will let After FX render the clips with the correct cadence?
A previous post mentioned using these programs:
twixtor
re timer
motionperfect
timemaster 2.0
Anyone know if these apps will solve my problem?
