I've been struggling trying to deliver a file for broadcast. They want 50mb/s 720x486 29.970 interlaced, drop frame in a .mov container - original video is 1080P 23.976, edited in vegas. I figured this is just an apple version of MPEG IMX 50. Problem is I dont have the codec on PC. I did manage to export an .mxf, but its not good enough for them (they said its non-drop frame, wrong container) . I don't see any timecode options on the os x machine or the PC. I also dont see any 2-3 pulldown options for the 23.976p - 29.970i conversion. what am I doing wrong?

I have both a FCP and Vegas workstations BTW and I'll export on the mac (where the codecs I need are)

Sounds like something you might have been able to do with the Matrox DVCPRO 50 codec. Not sure if it's still available; I don't think it would work in a 64-bit environment besides.

There's something missing here. They've given you a container spec, but no codec? I just rendered an NTSC dropframe project from Vegas 9.x x64 using the Avid DV50 codec. Plays fine in Quicktime for me. So really, you just need a codec to encode to.

Hmmm. They did not specify a specific codec. Avid codecs crash during half render in vegas 10.x on my PC... I'll give it a try on a different machine.
